A shocking discovery was made in a local church in Ardmore, Oklahoma Saturday afternoon. Police were alerted to a baby in a dumpster at Ardmore church after authorities say the mother called to alert them.
In an interview with Christian Post, Associate Pastor Ed Skidmore says, "Of course, we were absolutely heartbroken," Skidmore said. "We're pro-life from the moment of conception. We support babies in the womb. We support our local pregnancy center. We support mothers. Our hearts have gone out to the dad, the mom and the baby. We are absolutely heartbroken."
It's unclear right now what the motive was for the child to be left in the dumpster. KXII reported the baby was found around 3:00 pm on Saturday and as of Saturday evening, the baby was still in stable condition.
Skidmore says the mother and the baby do not have any affiliation with Ardmore church. He told CP that investigators alerted him that the mother was the one who called the police to inform them the baby was left in the dumpster.
"I did talk to the police officers that were here and they did say that it was the mother that gave them the information to where the baby was and she was at another location. That's all they would tell me," Skidmore says.
No further information is available at this time. Pray for the mother, baby and father that God would deliver them. While the motive is still unclear at this time, any parent put in a position to put a child in such a dangerous position needs God.
