How Timothy Plan Is Exposing the Pornography Scourge Plaguing America

We hear shocking stories about sex trafficking and the exploitation of minors, but many people believe that only happens in big cities or third world countries. "It's not happening near me," they say.

But it is, and there's something we can do about it—and should. At Timothy Plan, we believe we have an obligation as salt and light in this world individually and corporately to fight.

Over Timothy Plan's 25-year history of being a biblically-based, pro-life, pro-family mutual fund group, we have exposed companies like Facebook for the 20 million images of child exploitation and porn found on their platform, to illustrate how Christians may be investing in companies that don't reflect biblical beliefs and values. It's becoming increasingly evident to many that pornography demeans women, children and men, and poses an existential danger to family life. Brain studies, such as one published in the Neuropsychopharmacology journal by an international team of scientists, indicate that porn can be as addictive as drug or alcohol abuse.

I'm excited to announce that Timothy Partners, adviser of the Timothy Plan family of mutual funds and ETFs, is taking direct aim at the pornography scourge plaguing America. Timothy Partners employees are urging one million Americans to join them in calling for authorities to shut down Pornhub, the most popular porn site in the world. Why? Because evidence continues to mount that Pornhub supports sex trafficking, rape, abuse and child exploitation. To demonstrate our commitment and support, Timothy Partners is double matching all contributions our employees make to this cause.

It's moments like this when we have the opportunity to directly participate in efforts for meaningful change that keep us focused on the broader mission of Timothy Plan.

Timothy Plan monitors corporations for their involvement in anti-Christian activity, advertising and supporting immoral and ungodly behaviors that tear at the fabric of this country. Those companies are filtered out of Timothy Funds and ETFs. Porn companies and those who advertise on porn sites have always been filtered out of the funds.

More Than Just Dirty Pictures is a pro-family site that tracks sexual exploitation and abuse online. They have called for Pornhub to be shut down and its owners to face the consequences of years of supporting abuse, rape and sex trafficking of minors.

These are not adult performers playing a role in a movie, as bad as that is; these are real videos of women and children being violated, abused, trafficked and traumatized.

In March 2020, the campaign to shut down Pornhub attracted backers on Capitol Hill. Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) asked then-Attorney General William Barr to investigate Pornhub for allegedly facilitating human sex trafficking.

"In several notable incidents over the last year, Pornhub made content available worldwide showing women and girls that were victims of trafficking being raped and exploited," Sasse wrote.

The letter continued, "Pornhub must not escape scrutiny. I, therefore, request the department open an investigation into Pornhub and its parent entity MindGeek Holdings SARL for their involvement in this disturbing pipeline of exploiting children and other victims and survivors of sex trafficking."

Internet Watch Foundation, an online watchdog, reported that in only two years, they confirmed 118 cases of child rape and trafficking on Pornhub. Among them was a story of a 15-year-old girl rescued after 58 videos of her being tortured and raped were found on Pornhub. Hear how you can join the fight to stop more stories like hers from happening here.

Employees of Timothy Partners hope their unified support of this initiative acts as a catalyst for employees of other organizations to engage with their leadership to stand against this dangerous and abusive trend.

Please join Timothy Partners and more than 2 million others. Sign the petition to shut down Pornhub and hold its executives accountable for aiding child exploitation, sex trafficking, rape, abuse and trauma.
