Actress and former mixed martial artist Gina Carano has joined the ranks of the unemployed in the wake of her controversial social media posts, and the Twitterverse has not hesitated to express its opinion. Scores of angry fans are calling for the cancelation of the popular series' Disney+ network with the trending hashtag #CancelDisneyPlus.

Carano has also been dropped by her talent agency, UTA, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lucasfilm released a statement Wednesday night, its spokesperson saying, "Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable," per
