All eyes in American politics will be focused on a ski resort in northwestern Utah for signs of a possible shift in the #NeverTrump faction.
According to several media outlets, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who himself failed as a presidential candidate in 2008 and 2012, has called together nearly 300 the Republican Party establishment elite for a retreat to discuss a "post-Trump future." Some, however, wonder if it's meant to attempt a last-ditch effort to derail the GOP nomination process.
The Experts and Enthusiasts Summit—also called "E2"—the Deer Valley Lodge in Park City, Utah. Reportedly, those in attendance will talk about their plans to take down Trump with a third-party candidate, as well as how they should proceed politically, if the GOP presidential nominee-in-waiting wins the White House.
The three-day event was located at the secluded Utah spot so they can gather and talk without worry of media coverage and condemnation. But according to some reports, the guest list also includes some of Trump's top backers, as well as those who have publicly endorsed his campaign.
These include RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), and U.S. Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.). Members of Trump's campaign staff, however, have not been invited.
