Pastor Samuel Rodriguez has a prophetic word of encouragement for believers today who may have grown weary in well-doing in this age of decadence and cultural upheaval. He calls them "plow pushers," reminiscent of Elisha, who was out pushing the plow when God called him to assume the mantle of Elijah (1 Kings 19:19-21). And he says these people will prevail despite how things may look or feel.
"The plow of perseverance will always lead to the mantle of promotion," Rodriguez tells Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of the Greenelines podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. "If you've been pushing the plow on good days and bad days, sunny days and rainy days—if you've been pushing the plow, there is a mantle of promotion on this side of eternity, Galatians 6:9, that cannot and will not be denied."
But we're still in a day of battle, Rodriguez warns, adding, "I'm not in denial. We are fully aware that the spirits of Ahab, Jezebel and Baal are alive. These are powerful spirits. They are prevailing spirits. Ephesians 6:12, 'We battle not against flesh and blood but about but against principalities, spiritual powers and authority, evil spirits in authoritative places' ... And here we are. But here's what I believe. Right now, as I speak, in Jesus' name, there is an army of Elijah and Elishas rising up. We see men and women rising up with the spirit of Elijah, which in our New Testament covenant, it's a spirit of the living God. They're rising up, willing to confront Ahab, Baal and Jezebel."
This generation is a new generation, Rodriguez says, who will not tolerate the assault on our Judeo-Christian values. "They will not tolerate the losing of the next generation and the sacrifice of the innocent in and out of the womb," he says. "There's a generation rising up in the name of Jesus, they will not sacrifice biblical orthodoxy, they will not build altars for Baal in the temples. There's a generation rising up of Elijah and Elishas. This generation will do greater things."
Rodriguez adds that this generation will speak restoration: "There's a restoration of anointing, a resurrection of anointing, indeed, all in this new generation rising up. So let not your heart be troubled. Our job is to continue to do what Elijah did. And what we do is after the drought, he had the audacity to say, 'Hey, look up into the heavens, here comes the rain.'"
