As an inventor, Tom Cartwright quickly realized that if he did not partner with God in his business, he would never see his dreams come to pass.
He realized that God was the one who inspired his ideas and creativity, and that He would be the one to open the doors of opportunity for him. And Cartwright's obedience to God's guidance has helped him have some incredible successes over the past 40 years. One of his inventions, a ceiling fan with leaves shaped like philodendron leaves, broke industry sales records for both Home Depot and the ceiling fan industry.
Almost 25 years ago, Cartwright brought his daughter Allison on board to help with the details of product development, and the two continued to experience great success. Their inventor coaching company, Invent Shine, seeks to serve other inventors and help them with the many decisions and details involved in taking an invention from idea through development.
"I believe God gives us ideas because we were created in His image to be creative and have that capability," Cartwright told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of "Greenelines" on the Charisma Podcast Network. "God is there in every aspect of our lives.
"What I try to do is encourage people to step out and see how God will go before them and provide everything they need, from the technical side to the finances. This is a business ministry. People will experience what I call the 'God' factor. When He gives them an idea, he's also going to provide the means to bring it to fruition.
"When we have the mind of Christ, the ideas will come. We started with nothing, and God opened the door and made the way. And in the process, it has continued to just build our faith to a tremendous level."
