Kanye West's much-anticipated T.L.O.P. made headlines for a series of name changes, but Christians are pausing at another news item: Kirk Franklin's part of the project.

West tweeted that his seventh studio release, originally titled So Help Me God, is "actually a Gospel album."

Franklin appeared in an Instagram photo alongside Kanye, Andre 3000, Kid Cudi, Puff Daddy, 2 Chainz, French Montana and The-Dream.

"When I was sitting in the studio with Kirk—Kirk Franklin—and we're just going through it, I said, 'This is a gospel album with a whole lot of cursing on it, but it's still a gospel album,'" West reportedly said. "It's the gospel according to Ye. It's not exactly what happened in the Bible, but it's this story idea of Mary Magdalene becoming Mary."

West attended Vous Church in the past and designed pastor Rich Wilkerson's book cover.
